College offers new and exciting possibilities to the college student. A lot of firsts also. The first time away from home for most. The first time on their own with no direct supervision. The first time trying to manage money. The first time adulthood is put to the test. A lot of Changes.
With those changes come some other firsts. The first of, stress from trying to manage money, time, having responsibility for their own behavior, and on top of that, the stress of performance.
Availability of all sorts of extra curricular activity and the testing of family values with new found freedom can lead to break down and confusion. The Collegiate Chaplain serves the College student in the area of spiritual counseling and at times by just being a trusted listening ear. The Ministry area of Collegiate Chaplaincy is expanding in the U.S. and abroad, and the Chaplain has become a recognized fixture on most college campuses.
If you are a Collegiate Chaplain or if you are working toward that end, you need to consider membership in the IFOC, Inc. We can help. Contact us today for an information and membership packet.
