Senior Chaplain Kenneth Coppock is an Ordained Emergency Services Chaplain and Life member currently serving on the Board of Directors of the IFOC, as the Special Projects and Business Compliance Officer, and member of the Executive Advisory Council. He has been a member of the IFOC since 2002. Chaplain Coppock has over 32 years in Emergency Services, where he has served as an Emergency Medical Technician, Auxiliary Police Officer, and currently retired after serving as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the last 25 years with the Troy Fire Department. Chaplain Coppock also responded at the request of the Chaplain Coordinator for the Sterling Heights Police to minister to the family and fellow officers of Officer Mark Sawyers at the time of his tragic death on June 5, 2004 after being shot while on duty writing a report. Ken is currently serving as the Police Chaplain Coordinator for the City of Ferndale Police Department where he has oversight of five other chaplains, as well as an Auxiliary Police Officer. He holds certification from the Concerns of Police Survivors in “Traumas of Law Enforcement.” Chaplain Coppock is extremely involved in the area of Critical Incident Stress Management. He has been serving on the Oakland County Crisis Response Organization (OCCRO) for the Past 7 years, and on the Board for the past 5 1/2 years. His interest for Critical Incident Stress Management has earned him the position of President of OCCRO from September of 2004 through May of 2007. Ken currently serves OCCRO has the Editor of their Beacon Newsletter. He owns ServiCar of Michigan, Inc., a private school bus operation that specializes in the transportation of Special Education students in both Oakland and Wayne Counties. Coppock has numerous professional certifications in the area of Training Design and Development, Training Management and Training Facilitation. |
